So I was watching Gossip Girl the other day,
and Blair was so depressed when Dan told her that "You are the dictator of taste!"
"Yes, that's right," she smiled, then off to chase her dream again.
Everyone should be a DICTATOR of SOMETHING.
With that something, you vision the future, create the best, and defeat the rest with absolute confidence. You do not have to be the best at it, nor get the deepest knowledge about it, nor own the most fabulous experience with it. The SOMETHING is what you care and hold a strict standard or threshold with. IT HAS to be done in your way. The standard can be high/low, bizarre/classic, crazy/logical.
It is like the unstoppable feeling of tapping on someone's shoulder and tell him/her that her blouse's label is flipped out and make them fix it otherwise you will help turning the label in for him/her.
It is like the tickling feeling on your finger tips of restoring the piece of chocolate left on the border of a plate to join the other pieces lining up peacefully at the centre of the plate in a buffet.
It is like the words almost slipping out of your mouth when you hear some wrong concepts or stupid doubts in random conversations overheard in a bus or MTR.
This something also drives your passion because it triggers your irrational acts,
stimulates your motivation because it has to be YOUR way and no tolerance in slight deviation or alternative.
It can be food, car, books, architecture, fashion.... you name it.
I think I found mine, when I enjoyed my whole hour reading and discussing the difference between cable-stayed and cable-suspension bridges.
